A memorial for jason cortez now sits in front of fire station 3 on post street. Cortez died tragically in that training accident on wednesday. A new report finds that Drug Overdose deaths in San Francisco have already surpassed last years staggering numbers. The medical Examiners Office says around 470 people have died from accidental overdoses in just the first eight months of the year. That averages to about two deaths every day. Reporter delta slamming into the gulf coast as a category 2 storm, making landfall near creole, louisiana, only about 12 miles where laura came ashore just six weeks ago. This storm blasted parts of the pelican state with 100 Miles Per Hour winds. Roofs were ripped off buildings, trees and power lines toppled. In lake charles, people still trying to recover from laura. Homes covered in blue tarps from that storm now barely clinging on after delta. Saturated by back to back s storms. Were along the Vermilion River in lafayette, louisiana, where were already seeing the banks growing here as delta rolls in, the fast moving storm expected to do some damage before it moves northeast.
