Poll workers were 61 and older. 27 were over 70. Of course this reflects a high risk population during the pandemic. I think that makes it really necessary for people who are younger and healthy to signup and volunteer their time nod to kind of take that burden off of older folks who are more vulnerable. Happening today Trump Supporters of the president will be in pleasanton going to hold a truck rally. Start at 11 15 this morning at the stone ridge parking lot near the jc penny. Organizers say they do expect anywhere from 50 to 300 trucks to participate. And the cdc now says anyone whos come in close contact with someone with covid19 should get tested, and that now includes people who are asymptomatic. Later reports stated guidance was pushed by white house and dhhs officials over the objections of cdc experts. The cdc removed that language from their guidance yesterday. Of course, we learned you can test positive for coronavirus even if you are asymptomatic. A coronavirus testing site focused on testing black oakland residents will open up today. The pop up community covid19 testing site will open at the center of hope Church Parking lot off of mcarthur boulevard. Itll open from 9 00 this morning to 4 00 p. M. Personal protective equipment will also be distributed at the event. Ucsf, united in health, oakland front line healers and black organizations all partnered together to open this site. And also today you can get a free flu shot in Santa Clara County. County leaders just unveiled this froom. Its available at the fairgrounds every saturday through middecember. Medical experts suggest getting your flu shot as soon as possible. The bay area and country are preparing for the threat of the flu season and a resurgence of the tu st program at the Santa Clara County fairgrounds runs from 9 00 to 4 00 starting tomorrow, and you do not need an appointment. Santa clara county has announced schools can reopen for inperson classes as early as next wednesday if they meet certain conditions. Schools can open if their plans to do so are approved by county and state officials. Those plans must include guidelines for social distancing and other steps to prevent the spread of covid19. Theyre also encouraged to keep students in small groups or social bubbles. Schools may opt to continue Distance Learning as well.
