And it is a question on so many parents mind, when can kids go back to school. And San Franciscos mayor breed is laying out a new time line for reopening schools for inperson learning. Education of course one of the five key issues were focusing on in our effort to build a better bay area. There is no firm date for high school reopening, but 1some younger students could be going back to the classroom soon. Amy hollyfield is live with the details. Reporter this is one of those stories where the headline and the reality are pretty different. Once you Start Talking to the players, the major players, in this like the School District, the teachers union, it doesnt sound like they think that they can get back in to that classroom as soon as the mayor maybe would like for them too. In the mayors news conference, mayor london breed says that Elementary School students in San Francisco could start returning to the classroom as early as this month or next month saying she is extremely concerned about the future of children. But the School District says for that to happen they need training and protocols in place, three month supply of ppe and an agreement with the teachers union. And the district and union have not even started negotiating the terms of a return to the classroom. People are pretty enraged about it. Many more supplies and equipment are needed. So this is not a matter of stubbornness, this is not a matter of lack of willingness. We need to know that the resources are there. Reporter teachers say there will have to be a lot of changes to the buildings before they have want to return like hot water in the sinks and reliable ventilation. And parents wonder how social distancing will happen when some classes have 30 to 35 kids per one teacher. San Jose State University has launched the nations largest Wildfire Research center and they are using a radar system that allows researchers to look inside a fire plume. The state signed a six month, 15 Million Contract with Software Company opt democratic optum insight inc. And this will replace the existing system that was called in to question. She was a firefighter with the crescent volunteer fire department. Jones was in california with her son working for a private contractor and died monday in a vehicle crash. We always miss them when they go off up there, but they always come back, only this time i guess shes not coming back.
