Contra costa county classes start thursday. In oakland what Distance Learning looks like there is the result of extensive input from parents and students themselves. But in contrast to the abrupt shift to online in the spring, administrators believe this falls Distance Learning will be much improved. We will be offering a more robust and interactive experience for our students. Reporter much of what parents and students will see this fall will grow from Lessons Learned this past spring. The feedback we got from our surveys last spring. The kids needed to have more scheduled time that was similar to a Typical School experience. Reporter in many Contra Costa County student a school will be in School Virtually 8 00 a. M. To 2 00 p. M. We expect 50 to 60 of that time is the teacher directly talking to the kids and instructing them and working with the kids. But we also are really going to be watching and making sure we have a balance so kids arent on a computer screen all day long. The igbiggest thing is looking what is appropriate developmentally for a student.
