Even cooler weather tomorrow and a better chance of drizzle tonight. Ill show you those numbers coming up next. Lets get back to jobina. Any issues out there on the road . Yes, mike. You saw me sweating earlier and now we have some more problems to talk about, especially in oakland this morning we had a number of issues. I have a new crash coming in here and ill bring everybody right to the map so you can see the problem spot. We are looking at 580 right now. The storm came in as a category one hurricane packing 80mileperhour winds and bringing intense rain and wind with possible storm surges measuring up to about five feet in some spots. The northeast is now preparing for a Tropical Storm to hit them later today. In new york city these orange flood barriers have been inflated in Lower Manhattan just in case. We can get up to eight inches of rain. The good news is this storm is accelerating and heading to the north and northeast at 33 Miles Per Hour. Its heading towards lexington park, virginia, right now. You can see around washington and baltimore some of the heavier rain falling. Look how big the rain shield is. Almost 700 miles wide reaching all the way into canada right now and all the areas in green, flash flood watches. All the areas in red, tornado watches. We could have even more damage in those areas. All right. So, what were going to be dealing with today for the rest of us are temperatures that are going to be well below average and about up to 13 degrees cooler than what we had yesterday. Were starting off about the same this morning. You can see temperatures in the mid 50s to around 60 but were barely 80 inland after being in the 90s and 72 around the bay and 60 at the coast. So, get ready for another blustery day and even faster winds tomorrow and cooler temperatures on the way. Ill have that coming up in the accuweather forecast. Reggie . Thank you, mike. Well check in with jobina at the live desk with more on this story. Thanks, kumasi. No secret to parents that this pandemic has been especially hard on their children. Theyve been home, some of them for nearly six months now. Children all over the country are experiencing the strange new world that were in. No classroom, no camp, no groups of friends and were going to meet two brothers on gma this morning who have been home for more than 130 days and theyre processing their feelings through artwork. Their dad wrote about their drawings in new york times. I was just kind of overwhelmed by how instinctively they sort of are able to do what artists do, which is to just take the thing that is really bothering you inside and turn it into art. Families should be concerned when children have repeated themes about maybe more disturbing images. For instance, tombstones or windows with bars on them. Those kind of things are concerning and indicate that they are feeling stuck, hopeless. Experts recommend parents talk to their kids about their drawings and artwork, ask questions and reassure their safety. Dont obsess over the pandemic. Good morning america will have a whole report on kids and covid anxiety thats coming up at 7 00 on gma right here on abc7 mornings. Okay, jobina, thank you.
