It will help multiple types of families. Reporter the mayor said in a statement any efforts to bring them back to get that same effect as if they were in school, anything helps. The state tallied a record high number of deaths from wednesday, 157. California has more than 425,000 diagnosed cases of coronavirus. Thats the most of any state in the country, even new york. In the bay area, hospitalizations set a record for another day with 756 patients. In the south bay, san jose is one of a dozen cities being monitored by the trump administration. Dr. Deborah birx named the city in a private phone call. Audio of the call was obtained by the center of public integrity. But the center doesnt include san jose in its reporting. The mayor says he hasnt heard from the white house. I cant speak to why the white house selected particular cities, but it seems as though the common theme is the mayors had any contact with the white house about this. But our work is the same. We need to focus on reducing our transmission rate. In a statement, the county of santa clara said the increase in cases demonstrates the need for a coordinated and National Approach to the pandemic. Santa cruz county is now on californias watch list after a surge in covid19 cases, and the countys fourth death. The area has seen hundreds of new Coronavirus Infections in just the past two weeks. This is a dramatic change for the county of santa cruz. So far we have not seen a huge increase in hospitalizations or deaths, although we are beginning to see the impact on our hospitals. I already had it all down, i was dreaming how we were going to open to make everybody safe. Once the county goes on the watch list and is there for three days.
