This is the only county today in the bay area that is not on the state watch list. Three popup testing sites popped up today in Santa Clara County and two in san jose and another one is in gilroy. Because of high demand at a drivethru testing site in hayward officials are moving it. Speaking of appointments, you can now get your nails and hair done outside. The governor just gave the green light for personal Care Services to resume if theyre done outdoors. This was the latest one at a home on dutch slew road. You could see boats and cars destroyed. A man at the scene said he started it by accident. He was putting gas in his generator when it spilled and then sparked a fire. San mateo county the only county at this point that is not on the states watch list, but that could soon change. County leaders plan to announce restrictions later today to stop the spread of coronavirus and to build a better bay area. The countys case rate of 110. 4 cases per 100,000 people as of friday exceeds the states benchmark of 100 per 100,000 residents. The bay areas average rate of cases is about 124 per 100,000. County leaders believe that could be changing as early as today and Business Owners caught in the middle of this, they have been taking advantage of what could be their last days open for the foreseeable future. The landscape of San Mateo County is Small Businesses and we have to do our part. If we do get shut down, our best options are to go outdoors. After more than 9,000 new cases on saturday and then again on sunday, the state reported about 6,800 additional cases monday. The rate of growth for hospitalizations is 16 over the past two weeks. And that does mark a steady decline. 50, 28 to 16. Thats an encouraging sign. We are seeing a reduction in the rate of growth, but a rate of growth nonetheless.
