While staff has not yet agreed the district is recommending almost all students distance learn. Once data suggests its safe a gradual return to a hybrid distance and inperson plan would begin. I spoke to an sfusd elementary teacher who says shes crushed she cant return to her classroom. I think coming from the viewpoint of seeing my sons preschoolteachers be comfortable going back. Reporter oaklandniscol dist plans to also start at a distance. Phase one will be Remote Learning and then science will determine the next blended phase of inperson instruction. Well be focusing to get them back to inperson instruction so that would be special ed, homeless kids, foster kids. We are still trying to work out how this is going to work out for parents who need to work. Logisticly this is nightmare. Were two working parents expected to be teachig and working on site at our place of work with two kids in two different places. The San Jose Teachers Union says teachers are unwilling to return to the classroom in august. The Union President posted a letter on facebook yesterday saying that most teachers dont feel like inperson classes would be safe and they would prefer Distance Learning. Reporter her mother created a Facebook Campaign with the initial goal of 200. One week later her campaign has been shared over a thousand times and raised over 50,000. But raising money to help others isnt new for andy. Every birthday she asked friends and family to donate money. The idea the place we visit sod emany times and we have so many fond memories there and she was just really upset at the fact she may never be able to go visit there again.
