Tonight a former advisor to President Trump revealed in an exclusive interview with abc news Martha Raddatz some of the details of being inside the white house inner circle. Former National Security advisor john bolton has written a book called the room where it happened. Raddatz asked about mr. Trumps dealings with russian president vladimir putin. You say that president putin plays donald trump like a fiddle. How does he do it . He knows the people hes talking to. And i think he looks at somebody like donald trump and says to himself, as an old kgb officer, how am i going to get him to the place i want him to be . And i can just see the smirk when he knows hes got him following his line. You were worried about leaving him alone in a room with vladimir putin. Why . Because i didnt know what he would say. Bolton also provided an insiders view into President Trumps relationship and what some called a bromance with north korean dictator kim jongun. You have always been a hardliner on north korea, and yet there you were with the president who wanted to meet with kim jongun. What concerns did you have about that . Well, i was very concerned that he would giveaway things that he didnt need to giveaway. Do you think he really believes that kim jongun loves him . I dont know any other explanation. I think kim jongun gets a huge laugh out of this. Even if it were a deep personal relationship, it doesnt change the fact kim jongun is never going to give up his Nuclear Weapons program. But nobody should misunderstand that a personal relationship is somehow equivalent to better relations between the two nations. Bolton says he will not vote for President Trump to be reelected in november. A lifelong republican, bolton has worked for four gop administrations in his career and he told cnn he will write in the name of a conservative republican on his ballot. At least one current aide to President Trump believes bolton could Face Criminal Charges for some of the information he revealed in his book. All of this follows the white house going to court to stop bolton from releasing his memoir, the room where it happened. A judge ruled against President Trump and the book hits shelves on tuesday. The trade advisor Peter Navarro spoke out against bolton in an interview with cnn. He will not only not get the profits from that book, but he risks a jail sentence. He has done something that is very, very serious in terms of american National Security, and hes got to pay a price for that. Navarro also accused bolton of lying about a conversation between President Trump and chinas president xi jinping.
