The city of minneapolis is requesting the support of the National Guard to help combat riots as protesters clashed with police for a second night in a row following the death of george floyd. I want to take you live now to minneapolis so we can see what is going on there because the daylight video has been very telling of the destruction that took place. We have seen several buildings burned down and some are actively burning this morning. Last night, demonstrations tu turned violent with looting and vandalism and a shooting near the protest that left a man dead. Meanwhile, fires erupted at several businesses. Witnesses say they were startled by arsonists. The night before we started out with about 8,000 protesters at 38th and chicago. And they were great. They were chanting for things to remain peaceful. Tonight didnt have that same feel. And thats sad. Floyd died monday night in Police Custody. Witness video shows a white Police Officer kneeling on his neck and keeping that knee there for several minutes after floyd stopped moving. Four officers were fired. The fbi has opened an investigation. The mayor of minneapolis is urging prosecutors to press criminal charges against the Police Officer seen in that video with his knee on floyds neck. For the north bay, we have fog and low clouds through about 9d 00 and then sunshine will help push us into the low 90s for a couple hours this afternoon.
