Pictures from a united flight and a American Airlines flight. And many people were upset to see people in the middle seats. They were hoping those would be open for social distancing. Also talked to a woman on a Frontier Airlines flight and she thought the flight was too full and she was upset. Petrified. Definitely. It was absolutely ridiculous that we were that close to one another. People were very upset and people are saying why dont we have space . Frontier airlines got back to us saying that flight was 66 full. Uniteds flight in question was 85 full. Would only use middle seats when necessary. So, for example, they confirmed a pilot flying stand by was in a middle seat on that flight. And families traveling together they all sit together and use that middle seat. They said 73, though of of the middle seats with urempty. Airlines will try to keep middle seats empty for social distancing and patients are now questioning that pledge. And i see no basis whatsoever to deprive them of federal funds that they are entitled to just like every county in the state. Bar owners say state alcohol and Beverage Control have threatened to revoke liquor licenses. A rare illness possibly linked to covid19 is now affecting more children. There are at least three deaths in new york. Doctors are urging parents to look out for fever, rash and abdominal symptoms, possible signs of ckawasaki disease. Its still unclear how it is connected to covid19. The first case happened here. A 6monthold girl was diagnosed with kawasaki disease and tested positive for covid19. At the live desk, the president of oaklandbased company clorox says theyre doing everything they can to keep their products on store shelves. But that you likely wont see things fully stocked until some time in the summer. Linda rindell spoke exclusively with abc news and shoppers are increasingly frustrated as they scour the internet and local stores for clorox wipes and she says they were not prepared for sky rocketing demand caused by the coronavirus. Clorox says theyre delivering wipes to stores every day, but demand for the disinfectant products have increased more than 500 . We have seen so many people buy wipes that havent bought them in the past. So, most of this is new users and everybody wants products on hand so that they can disinfect and keep themselves safe. Clorox plants are now running 24 hours a day and seven days a week. They are on a Hunger Strike hoping the company will speed up efforts to send them home. Members have been on the ship for about two months. Amid reports of worker deaths. The details of those circumstances arent clear, but the crew says they feel like hostages and they demand proof that the company is sending them home. Well, as you know here in the bay area, masks or other types of facive e ivcoverings a required when going out picking up your food or shopping for groceries. A uc berkeley scientist authored the study that finds if most of the population wears a face covering, the number of cases do not go up. If youre entering an essential business, you must wear a face covering, but researchers say covid19 infection rates would drop to 1 12th of the number of infections if most people wear a mask whenever youre outdoors. If the population at day 50 of the pandemic were to be wearing masks, at least 80 , not 50 , we would be able to save at least 100,000 lives versus people not wearing any masks at all. I think that businesses large and small are probably going to wind up leading this charge as we attempt to reopen the economy. Economically, the white house estimates things are only going to get worse before they get better. The treasury secretary says unemployment could reach 25 . It is currently resting around 15 . Barbershops and salons in most of florida will open their doors. The safer at home order in mississippi was supposed to expire today, but the governor is actually extending it now to may 25th. The u. S. Accused china of trying to hack and steal potential data on a vaccine. The report that the fbi and department of Homeland Security will issue a warning that chinas most skilled hackers and spies are seeking advantages in the pandemic. The times says more than a dozen countries have deployed hackers to find other virus responses. A new development in the case of the incident happened in february, but no one got arrested until video appeared last week showing arbery being shot and killed. An open letter calling for swift justice has been sent to georgia officials. What im seeking is those guys, all guys that were involve in the murder of my son to go to prison, possibly for the rest of their life. The arbery family says they support a doj investigation. A father and his son now face murder and aggravated assault charges. A 26yearold surfer killed saturday in a rare shark attack off the Santa Cruz County coast is remembered as an entrepreneur who turned his love for big waves into a promising career. Ben kelly died after being attacked at Sand Dollar Beach about five miles west of watsonville. He was a Small Business owner who handcrafted surf boards out of his home. Friends say kelly had a lifelong love for the sport and the ocean. This guy had so much knowledge of the ocean. He has been surfing for his entire life. He understands the area and he has been traveling all over the world and one of those guys that you know he understood the risk and you just hope it doesnt happen but it wasnt anything where he was making a mistake. State park officials have closed the waters in the area where kelly was attacked through thursday. Kelly leaves behind a wife.
