My mother and father started it in 1981 and we continue it today and now in the face of this adversity, we have to find out how to be useful to our community. Today they will be donating 150 meals to ambulance drivers. They have also fed hospital workers and wednesday theyre going to feed the Walnut Creek Police department. A second patient at lagouna honda hospital has tested positive for coronavirus. That brings the total cases to nine and seven of them are staff members. All those who tested positive are in good condition. The department of Public Health and the hospital says the patients are under a quarantine order. Dont expect the nation to recover any time soon. I think any reasonable person could look at that and tell that was not a realistic assessment of the situation. Service is being suspended because of the covid19 outbreak. The San Francisco transit riders group is calling for muni to stop fare collection and encourage rear door boarding to keep riders socially distanced. In the south bay, vta is suspending Light Rail Service starting today replaced by a reduced bus schedule with no fare collection. In addition to the change at muni, cal train is making Service Reduction starting today. It will run fewer trains. The daily schedule will be down to 42 trains a day and usually 92. Since the shelter in place, daily ticket sales are down 95 . The number of coronavirus cases in the bay area continues to rise. Right now there are 1,951 confirmed cases. 49 people have died. Santa clara county still has the most. 646 cases. 25 deaths. San francisco has 340 cases with five deaths. San mateo county reports 277 cases and six deaths. Alameda county has 270 cases and seven people have died there. Contra costa county has 175 cases and three people have died. As you can see, fewer cases in the north bay. Coronavirus has had less of an impact so far just north of the bay area. Mendocino county reports four total cases and lake county still reporting zero. Santa cruz county is reporting its first coronavirus death. The victim was a man in his 70s who had under lying health conditions. He worked in both santa cruz and santa clara counties. He was hospitalized on march 19th and died on saturday. The county has 44 cases so far. The Santa Cruz Police chief has released a video with aern wa w violating the shelter in place order. Extra patrols out there and a lot of Police Officers out roaming the streets looking for people who are trying to take advantage of everybody else. We will find you. We will arrest you. We will prosecute you. Also reiterating to only call 911 if its a true emergency. The fda issued an emergency reauthorization for decades old malaria drugs to treat covid19. Donated 30 million doses of hydroxychloroquine. Doctors will now be able to provide the drugs as needed. The drugs have been championed by President Trump despite minimal evidence that they work. This morning, strong accusations from President Trump as u. S. Hospitals beg for more medical supplies. The president is claiming some hospitals are hoarding ventilators. At least four people have died on a Holland America cruise ship heading towards florida and at least 189 people are suffering flulike symptoms. Nearly 2,000 passengers have been stranded at sea for more than two weeks. The ship embarked on a south american voyage on march 7th. Only six days before the u. S. Asked all major cruise lines to suspend their trips. The captain is fighting to get the proper tests delivered to the vessel. He didnt want to jeopardize the operation to have test kits on the ship.
