So its very important that our system is not connected to the internet. Reporter most of the nearly 950,000 registered voters here use mailin ballots which went in two weeks ago. 55,000 of them have already been processed. Under the states new voters choice act, every Santa Clara County voter automatically receives a mailed ballot. Voters can choose to cast their ballot in person at any of the 110 voting centers. Most will be at secure, accessible meeting halls with access to power to run electronics. Even the ballots have changed. This is the old ballot where you used to have to mark and fill in the gap between the arrow. On the new ballot you have little red circles, and youre basically filling in the bubble. All these new changes could lead to confusion. It will be because this is a whole new model. This is why were trying to have as much stuff as we can and staff at the front called the greeters. A San Francisco judge reduc refused to dismiss a l l seven on your sides Michael Finney has been following this closely. Yeah, following it for some time. Fast track asked the court several times to dismiss these claims. It tried to throw the class action lawyers off the case, even ban the public from the courtroom. After six years, the trial is finally set to begin. This dispute began when the Golden Gate Bridge switched to all electronic tolling back in 2013. Drivers without a fast track account are supposed to get toll invoices in the mail. The lawsuit claims hundreds of motorists never got invoices, mostly due to mailing mistakes. And instead of trying to find those drivers, fast track piled on penalties, sometimes thousands of dollars in fees. There have been hundreds or maybe even thousands of people who were charged penalties for invoices they never received. And what fast track did is they just shredded invoices and imposed a penalty on top of that. The suit also claims fast track makes it too difficult to dispute toll penalties. Motorists must pay all the charges up front before they can get a hearing. Fast track says it did nothing wrong and asks the court to dismiss the claims. The judge deny thad requeied th and the trial will go forward. Fast track has also asked that the public be barred from part of the trial. Most people heading to the Redwood City Library are there to check out a book. But this woman is a human book. A human book is a book that you talk to. You learn from the book.
