A second patient evacuated from the ship is showing symptoms and is hospitalized. 80 more people are sick on the diamond princess but hundreds of others were allowed to leave today after testing negative for the virus. A car was going the wrong way on the ti offramp and another vehicle swerved to avoid it. It slammed into the Center Divide barrier. The other vehicle that started this also stopped. Just eid anothyesterday another slammed into that same barrier. New this morning, search crews have rescued a missing hiker from novato who went missing on monday while hiking in the marin county open space. 76yearold Robert Bennett went on a hike but had not been seen since monday afternoon. Abc7 news was in marin county shortly after rescue crews saved him last night. Officials say two k9s located bennett off of a trail at 10 30 at night. A helicopter had to be called in to transport him because of the steep terrain. It was determined to be safer to walk him out of the area. He was loaded on to a stretcher and taken to an ambulance. I think we owe it to the k9 teams around here. Without them and the assistance of the search and rescue members assigned to them and the expansive search, i dont know that we could have been able to find him without the k9s. Bennett was taken to the hospital. Theres no word on how hes doing. This is a separate case from the other missing people, thats a palo alto couple still missing in point reyes. This will be a search resuming this morning. 77yearold Carol Kiparsky and 72yearold ian irwin vanished friday. The marin county Sheriffs Office plans to search the waters off inverness, not far from the airbnb where the couple was staying. Investigators say theyre looking into the couples financial records to try to democrat their movements before they disappeared. Happening this morning, a second round of buses will leave Travis Air Force base filled with people who are finally getting to go home now that their 14day coronavirus quarantine is over. One bus left yesterday and another bus will leave in about 30 minutes and then theyll finally have their freedom. This group of 180 americans was brought here from wuhan, china to Travis Air Force base. They have now been cleared. A busload of them were taken to sfo to catch flights yesterday. One man flew from minnesota to sfo to greet his son saying he felt helpless through this ordeal. As a dad, those of you that are, you know i was pretty nervous when i couldnt do anything to help him. Now seeing him, how do you feel . Its great. Im happy. The evacuees stayed in Residential Housing on the base. They were not allowed to leave the base and their health was checked regularly. Another round of evacuees was brought here on monday. They had been stuck on the cruise ship off the coast of japan. So they will now be quarantined here for two weeks. The two groups were kept separated. This group has now been cleared. They even got a letter making it official theyre clear of the coronavirus and theyre free to go back into society. Officials declared a local Health Emergency as a precaution. In the north bay, a patient with coronavirus is now being treated at queen of the Valley Medical Center in napa. Nine people evacuated to Travis Air Force base late sunday night were identified as needing hospitalization or testing. Seven of those are in Solano County hospitals. New this Morning Police in Southern California are reviewing an incident where officers beat a suspect on the ground. Cell phone video captured the beating saturday. Long Beach Police Officers hit that suspect several times with a baton, even though he was already pinned to the ground. Police say the video only shows part of the incident. They say the suspect was a parolee who tried to carjack several vehicles in the area. They say he resisted officers who tried to arrest him. In a development in a brazen robbery in oakland. One suspect who attacked and robbed a man in this driveway in this video is in custody. Hes the guy with the long hair and red pants on. Hes also the suspect in a robbery in richmond. Investigators say he was in a car involved in a police chase on i5. Oakland police say the man cut his hair, he was planning to leave the state. The other robbery suspect is still not caught. This Morning Police in the peninsula are looking for people who might know who attacked a woman in their own home.
