right. thank you. authorities are investigating a high speed xhas left killed and injured. this the suv crashed into a concrete barrier on the peninsula avenue off-ramp from 101 around 4:00 this morning. they say the vehicle was one of two officers chased from a home. >> they sped off in high directions. one of them took off over state route 92 over the san mateo brink at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. we terminated any pursuit of that vehicle at that point. >> officers haven't determined if the house was actually robbed. they're trying to determine if a man found hiding inside a car was possibly involved in the incident. the names of the victims all from that suspect vehicle haven't been released. a foster city man accused of felony sex offenses has been arrested. it happened on marilyn avenue. officers tried to serve a search warrant. according to investigators, an officer fired a single shot at the 38-year-old suspect after the man tried to stab an officer inside the apartment. the suspect's wound isn't considered life threatening. his nail hasn't been released. turning now to the presidential election, mayor breed said she is supporting michael bloomberg for president. she said a lot of people may not agree with her but she close not to take the easy way out. instead she's endorsing a candidate she believes in. >> the fact is talking about what you're going to do and having a track record of doing it, for me, it was the deciding factor because he is a mayor and he did a lot of transformative work as a mayor. >> she will serve on the campaign as the first chair of african-americans for mike. the mayor joins sam liccardo as former senators of kamala harris who are now behind bloomberg. it comes on the same day we posted our new episode of chasing unveiling his plan. he will take part in a town hall with the chicano immigrants club we'll have more on steyer's plans coming up at 5:00. wells fargo's ceo has been banned from the bankin industry through an agreement with regulators. he was also fined $17.5 million. the former leader of wells fargo's community bank is facing a $25 million penalty. it is all from the fake account scandal that return money to consumers harmed by illegal business practices. the most common type of fraud reported last year was imposter scalps. consumers reported losing more than $1.9 million to fraud in 2019. 267 million was imposter scams. football fans are expected to spend on 2.72 billion. according to the national retail federation, nearly 194 million adults say they have plans for the game. that's why the endorsement. bloomberg has received a lot of criticism for his policies in new york a the lot of young black people say he particularly targeted them. here he is in california getting the backing of the young 29-year-old millennial black mayor of stockton so definitely, i think his campaign sees this as a really good optics moment. >> the policy we had, i apologize for. in the end it turned out we could have done something different. >> at this point reporters at this event start peppering him with questions about policy which he continues to apologize for. but then there is this remarkable moment with the mayor. >> so absolutely, i think it is a fair question. and again, no surprise, i'm young, i'm black and my father was incarcerated. >> i'll joined by the columnist and contributor phil. the main thing about bloomberg, he is jumping into the race late and a lot of california voters don't even know who he is. >> that's right. he is a third time mayor of new york. we might want to rename this segment, rather than are chasing california, catching california. that's what he is trying to do. to catch the imagination of the california voter and he's doing it by spending a record $26 million on television ads to introduce himself to the west coast. he's just not known here except for as a billionaire, possibly as the former mayor of new york, and the mayor who started, as we talked about in the piece, stop and frisk. a controversial move in california politics. >> super controversial. and that's why when we saw that the stockton mayor, a progressive guy endorsing bloomberg, a lot of people were very surprised by that. that's when you look at bloomberg's strategy. we interviewed him exclusively one-on-one. you can really tell that he's going at it. not just money. he's using his leverage of being a mayor. >> both together. the mayorship gives him credit. he started something that bloomberg foundation type work. what it was, he went around to various mayors, he's had conferences, he's helped with money, planning, and you're starting to see the paybacks. he's very close the oakland's mayor libby schaaf. she hasn't endorsed him yet. you have this relationship between hip and electe officials in the state. the question for michael bloomberg, can he translate that to the mass of voters while the clock is ticking down on this primary election. >> right. how much do endorsements matter anymore? that seems to be a big part of his strategy. this guy likes me. >> for michael bloopberg, it is. joe biden is known by every democratic voter in the country. bernie sanders, he's already run once. he's been running nonstop for six years. he's a well known commodity. go elizabeth warren has spent the last year introducing heavy to voters. buttigieg needs other ways of for hip, the endorsementes are big because they are giving him credibility. >> bloomberg. so represents the divisions in the democratic party. sanders, the polls show him as it's the number one, top. >> not really. everybody is up there. >> i just feel like he's bounced between being a republican and a democrat. maybe there is a large pocket of moderate democrats. >> the bloomberg bet is this. the democratic voters would say, okay, as much as i might like joe biden, he's too old. as much as i might like bernie, he's too far to the left. the bet is that none of the above will be able to take out donald trump and he would be the alternative. michael bloomberg said it doesn't need to be me. i will spend what it takes. that is fundamental message of the democratic party. is that the fundamental message of the democratic party this year? that remains to be seen. >> and i interviewed people who are upentity tubbs' endorsement of bloomberg. then they heard him speak and say i like the guy. >>. >> but he's not the only one you're looking at. >> i hope you can watch it. it is a look at how sanders is really targeting the latino vote to win
