This is an emergency meeting with the California Public Utilities Commission. The president of the Commission Says failures in execution and with the magnitude of this Public Safety power shutoff event created an unacceptable situation that should never be repeated. According to the San Francisco chronicle, local governments filed an intense critique with the commission saying pg es primary goal was protecting itself from liability and that considerations of the resulting human and economic damage were if examined at all secondary. Today the Public Utilities Commission Wants pg e to publicly address the mistakes and overall gaps identified in the power shutoff to give them Lessons Learned and the plan so this does not happen again. People evacuated the city of golita near santa barbara. The fire started around 5 00 last night and it has grown to 450 acres. Both directions of highway 101 closed at one point because of the smoke. That highway has also been reopened. More than 200 firefighters are on the scene.
