In 1998 a little girl here in napa fell off a play structure, got a concussion. That didnt sit right with jim. He said it wasnt going to happen again. It shouldnt happen. A playground should be not only fun but safe, and this was not safe. Reporter and so began jims campaign with the kiwanis club to bring in volunteers to cut down the cost of building labor. Jims home is his office, surrounded by pictures of his High School Sweetheart and wife with whom he raised four children. Reporter what makes him go . Life. Hes a happy man. We certainly are bringing in the clouds, not only the low level clouds but we are looking at some mid and high level clouds, so changes are arriving due to a system that is pushing in from the north and west. Yes, it is going to feel a little bit like fall out there temporarily. This is walnut creek. A pretty view for you here, but it shows how far the marine layer has pushed on into our inland valleys. As we check out our forecast highlights, we are starting that with a lot of cloud cover, even some mist and drizzle and the winds. They will pick up today and be quite brisk out there, anywhere from 15 to 40, even 45 Miles Per Hour some of those gusts. A lot of sunshine on the way. Temperatures will be a little below average as we get into the rest of the weekend. Early next week as another shot of cool air heads our way, and then a sunny and warmer week ahead. Theres the Golden Gate Bridge with all of the low clouds, and with a glocloudy afternoon on t way we will look for the sun to be in parts of the coastline from the north bay, and it is going to be very gusty out there. Live doppler 7 showing you all of the cloud cover, and this certainly is a different sight out there. Used to seeing the low clouds and fog banked on the shoreline, but a weak system from our north, arriving through today, allowing for the winds. At least theyre not offshore, but still the driest time of the year is with us, so any wind at all can make the winds very erratic to those fires to the north of us. Thats certainly worth watching. 62, redwood city and oakland. 59, gilroy and half moon bay. As we look at gilroy, it is a great start out there. 62 in concord. 54, santa rosa. Napa at 57 with the fog to the north. The visibility just a mile up in santa rosa. Four miles, petaluma. And the fog and low clouds with us throughout the mid Morning Hours. Then we will begin to breakout into partly sunny conditions. You will see the sun at the coast around marin county. Holding on to the fog around the san mateo coast. By later tonight the winds will ease through the overnight hours and we will see very little fog out there. Starting out with sun tomorrow. Less wind leading to a warmer sunday. So sunday is your warmer day. As we go through the Morning Hours, the winds build. Look at the colors. Blue to yellow here indicating the winds kicking up. Finally the red by late in the day, that will bring us near 30mileperhour gusts along the shoreline. 20 Miles Per Hour at sfo.
