Police say the driver of the tesla that hit the man was speeding and was not using the auto pilot feature. That crash happened on Taylor Street. Now the San Francisco Police Officers association is joining lawmakers advocating for installing cameras around the city. California state Assembly Bill 342 would have allowed for cameras to be set up. But it failed to passion last year, mainly over privacy concerns. According to sfmta speeding is the cause of 25 of fatal accidents here in San Francisco. As you mentioned, on sunday a man was killed and his wife seriously injured when a woman drove through a red light in a rented tesla. Police now believe that the driver was speeding. Another step to tackle the homeless issue, the board will talk about adding a Homeless Outreach team to alameda county. Also the board is going to discuss the fare gates. They installed new ones. Theyre trial gates. They put them in at richmond and fruitvale. Is to try to keep people from jumping the gates and skipping paying. People have complained, they made fun of them. They do not like them. Theyve gotten a lot of negative feedback. Theyll be bringing up those fare gates today and where to go from here. A lot to talk about, a lot to keep your eye on. An officer spotted the men in daly city. They tried to stop their vehicle yesterday afternoon. That car crashed in the broadmoor neighborhood after a short chase and the men ran. Officers caught one of them a few hours later. They finally found the other suspect about 10 30 last night. Police say the two suspects pulled a couple in their 60s out of their car tuesday night and took off with the vehicle. Both victims are okay. Developing news in the south bay where firefighters are keeping an eye out for flareups from a fast moving grass fire. It scorched 80 acres of land in the foothills east of milpitas in four hours. One structure burned but no others were threatened. Crews stopped the fire from spreading and are mopping up this morning. In the north bay, Sonoma County Animal Services is investigating a shocking case of animal cruelty. Two elderly hospitals are recovering at a vet tear center after being found abandoned in a trailer with no food or water. The two mares were discovered in thor in of a home depot parking lot. Both were malnourished. One is a mustang and her markings show shes a rescue from the bureau of land management. We have absolutely no idea why somebody would show up in our county, especially the town of windsor. Its a real Small Community up there and dump their horse trailer.
