Heres meteorologist lisa argen tracking live doppler 7. Hi, chris. Our fog print to the san mateo coast and mist along the shoreline. Were looking at sunshine and mild temperatures inland. But our forecast is going to shift to this feature in the Pacific Northwest for the week ahead that will bring us a cooling trend. Right now, you can see the fog at pier 39. 62 redwood city. Its 69 in morgan hill. A foggy Golden Gate Bridge right now in the upper 50s for our north in santa rosa. Its 67 in concord and livermore. Here is a look at the low clouds and fog which will peel back to the coast today. Numbers near 60 by noontime there. 70s, upper 70s around the bay and upper 80s. Another quick warmup for a warm to hot day today. But then the changes arrive. The details are coming up. Lisa, thank you. Bay area families preparing for possible immigration raids in some San Francisco neighborhoods, people are staying inside hoping to stay safe. The possible raids expected to happen in nine cities nationwide today. Theyre expected to focus as mny as 2,000 people identified by the Trump Administration as a top priority for deportation. Abc 7 has sheding h neighborhood. Her husband is undocumented and wont be going to work. We need to prepare if they do t he our onfill oper, the scenf uncertainty is palpable. I work in the missions with preschoolers. We notice families and the streets are quieter. They have to be safe. This woman who preferred not to be identified said her sister and two children are undocumented and staying the night with her. Theyre afraid i. C. E. Knows where they live. They want the federal government to rethink the raids. I pray to guard, have some heart. What the Community Needs is justice. Immigration lawyers with the Rapid Response network say they are ready and want the undocumented community to know from contra costa, santa clara county, wha dozens and dozens of Immigration Attorneys at free cost ready to represent you. The Rapid Response network is informing the undocumented community to restrain to any questions to an i. C. E. Agent unless theres a warrant with their name on it. Luis pena, abc 7 news. City officials held events to inform people of their rights and take a stand against possible raids. The mayor of berkeley told a crowd at a city sponsored rally that his community is ready to protect undocumented immigrants from i. C. E. Berkeley is a proud sanctuary city and that its Police Department does not cooperate with i. C. E. Enforcement action. I think its important that we send a message that were going to stand for the safety and security of all people regardless of their citizenship status. We will not cooperate in any y way. Thats our policy for many, many years. At sfo, Union Workers will not be assisting i. C. E. In any way or provide space for possible detainees. Its important to know your rights. It made landfall as a category 1 but has downgraded to a tropical storm. Meteorologist rob marciano is in new orleans with a look at the conditions this morning. Reporter the rain has arrived from barry. Although right now its raining lightly. The rain extends into mississippi and alabama. This slowmoving system is going to be with us for a time right through tomorrow. As a matter of fact, it may be raining more heavily this time tomorrow here than it is now. The question is, can the giant can it pump the water out below sea level area and keep up with the rainfall. So far so good. The river didnt get high enough to top the levees. Here, some of the areas outside of the city walls and the areas in southern parishes dealt with a lot more water than we have here. Still, that being said, anything any shore south facing with this south wind will continue to see mild storm surge today and well be dealing with that and the heavy rainfall. Could see over a foot of rain across south louisiana today and through tomorrow. That rainfall eventually gets up into the midmississippi valley and the ohio river valley as well. Life in new orleans will get more back to normal today. The streetcar is closed again today. But the buses will start to run. Sanitation crews have been out trying to pick up some of the trash left behind the past two days during the storm and the court port is open. We saw a kuz ship up the river. All the flights were canceled yesterday. Today the airlines are going to wind things up. A number of utility crews staying at the local hotels here have fanned out to try to get the power back on for those who have lost it in the storm. Rob marciano, abc news, new orlea orleans. A man who needed no contest to charges he murdered a young couple on a Sonoma County beached is expected to be sentenced tomorrow. Shawn gallonen confessed to killing the pair as they slept on the beach in jenner in 2004. Gallon yen admitted to shooting and killing his brother in 2017. Prosecutors are not seeking the Death Penalty against him as part of a plea deal. He will likely receive a sentence of three consecutive life terms in prison. Now to the east bay. Police are searching for the person who shot a man in the parking lot of six flags hurricane harbor. It happened before 5 00 yesterday. Police say the suspect and the victim argued before the shooting. The victim was taken to John Muir Medical Center but expected to survive. The gunman drove off in a silver fourdoor sedan with front bumper damage. Firefighters believe its a case of arson. Alameda fire crews put out the fire atwood stock park on Cypress Avenue after 3 30 yesterday morning. The entire play structure and surrounding rubberized turf was in flames. Just a few hours earlier, crews responded to the same park to put out a fire in a trash can. When abc 7 news arrived on scene, a touching note asking for the park to revote thankfully, no one was hurt. Time now 9 08 on this sunday morning. The fog is up against the coast. People on the streets cheered when the lights came back on after hours in the dark. [ cheering ] as you can imagine, some of the citys most iconic Tourist Spots were impacted. Megan tevrizian has more. Reporter here in the Upper West Side it was completely dark for most of the evening. Shops were closed, streetlights were out. It was so dark, you could barely see a few feet ahead of you. The new york city skyline black. More than 72,000 customers in the dark. I dont think they can make it any darker in here. So hard to see. Shortly before sunset the lights went out on the citys Upper West Side in midtown. Two of the areas busiest neighborhoods. No power at 66th street. Some of the subway stations normally bright eerily silent and pitch dark. The trains fortunately still running. Luckily, we had we were there for a good half and hour. Times square going sigh lept. Madison square garden going dark in the middle of a jlo concert. Obviously, were going to reschedule the show. Im sorry ts happened in the middle of our moment. Performers taking to the street after shows were canceled. Con edison blaming a substation fire explosion and when the power came back [ cheering ] Governor Cuomo acknowledging it could have been worse. We saw new yorkers at their best. Stories of new yorkers getting out and managing traffic at intersections. Ironically, it was 42 years to the day when the city experienced another massive power outage. In the east bay, one person was sent to the hospital after a van crashed into a store in moraga yesterday. Several people were inside the van. One of them was hurt. An elderly man was trying to park but his foot slipped off the brake and on to the accelerator, the building was not seriously damaged. A fresno man who had his car broken into was able to track the suspects down by a dashcam. Our sister station in fresno has the story. Video captured a moment the man swiped the camera. One item he took is a hat that says dad. Its a dad hat because im expecting. His wife will give birth to their daughter in november. A personalized water bottle printed with the ultrasound was also taken. It belongs to my wife and its from my daughter. It was very personal. When he returned to his northwest fresno home on monday, he started getting notifications on his phone. He went and he connected the camera to another vehicle. He was trying to figure it out. Thats when i got a picture of his face. He kept every motion activated video and alerted redding police. Wow, you really know where they are. Yeah. Im watching them live and i have a gps location pinpointing their spot. On thursday, police moved in on these two people with his help. Cops put your hands up on the steering wheel. Oh, my gosh. Put your hands on the steering wheel. The man in the video told police he bought the camera for 30 bucks. Officers are still looking for a suspect. Hes able to retrieve some video from the camera and provided it to the officer. Thats part of this case. It was a pretty dark and poor quality. So it didnt have a whole lot of facial features. Ceo andy of al cam says their videos have led to dozens of theft arrests. So the owner not only got video of him breaking into the car but video a few times after from that camera because he didnt quite understand that this isnt a dash camera like theyve been building for the last few years. This is the next generation where its connected like your phone is. I never thought i would go down the road of tracking down a person, locate him, communicate with the cops from two different cities and try to get in and nailing down live on my phone. In fresno, dale your ong, abc 7 news. Happening today, the 33rd annual aids walk San Francisco in golden gate park. The Opening Ceremony begins at 9 45 this morning at Robin Williams meadow. The walk starts at 10 30. If you havent registered, you can do see so at the park this morning. It benefits dozens of local hiv and aids programs. Sunday streets returns to the Mission District today. It will be on dubose avenue from 11 00 until 4 00 this afternoon. New today is the liveability summit to learn about the intersections between transit, Public Health and equity. There will also be a popup play block with kid friendly activities. Also happening today, berkeley will host a version of sunday streets. There will be music featuring live bands, food and drinks. Pet owners can dress up their fourlegged friends for the pet parade. Prizes will be given to the best dressed pets. It runs from 11 00 until 7 00 in berkeley on shattuck avenue. Turning to weather, we know many of you have a lot to tackle on this sunday morning. Lisa argen has the full forecast. The temperature is slightly different but not by much. We have our summertime micro climates. Were struggling to get out of the 50s in some spots but approaching 90s elsewhere in the inland valleys. Heres live doppler 7 where the fog is set up to the north from the san mateo coast. Locally, scattering across the bay, weve had a ridge of High Pressure dominating our weather to the south of us. This weak system to the north and west of us will increase our on shore flow bringing cooling. Problems continue in South Central louisiana. Up to a foot of rain here. A lot of the folks dont have power. With the severe thunderstorms breaking out here, some tornadoes being spawned, you need power to get the warnings. As we go through the next several hours, the storm weakens, the water recedes but the system moves to the north bringing heavy rain through missouri, western tennessee and we have tornado watches up towards southwestern tennessee. So very, very wet here. Still dealing with the flooding rain. In fact, weve had near 5 inches in parts of arkansas and its the South Central section of louisiana that we can see up to 10 inches here in the yellow and the orange. Back home, it is gray in San Francisco, with 55 degrees. Gained a degree there. 65 in san jose. Sunny there and from the east bay hills camera, a beautiful summertime view here. Petaluma, 60 degrees. 65 by the delta. The winds up to 30 Miles Per Hour through the delta. Thats going to bring temperatures into the 90s, perhaps instead of mid90s out there. The mist continues up the coast for the shortterm. Hot inland again and the cooler pattern as we go through the next several days. 80s in milpitas. 84 santa clara. A warm day in san jose at 85. On the peninsula from the midto upper 70s. Back home, in the city, looking at some sun with 60s. The east side of the city sunnier and warmer than the west side. 84 in petaluma. 86 in sonoma. In the east bay, its been mild. A little warmer than average with mid70s in oakland and berkeley. 82 in castro valley. If you like it hot, today is the day with upper 80s to low 90s in concord. 88 in san ramon. Were looking at a nice afternoon in the city but bring the jacket. The fog will clear and the low clouds. President trump said they would take place last month. Then he said theyd be delayed to give lawmakers an opportunity to discuss changing immigration laws. Some families in San Francisco are staying inside this weekend hoping to stay safe. Immigration lawyers say they are ready and want the undocumented community to know their rights. There will be recent immigration arrests in cities like san diego. But those are different from todays possible operations. A man in Washington State is dead after an officerinvolved shooting. Officers say he was trying to burn down an immigration detention center. Tacoma. Police say 69yearold willem van responsible ten threw molotov cocktails at the building a gun and carrying flares. Police opened fire killing him. They dont know what his motivation was or why anyone would try to set a concrete building on fire. This wasnt the first time the man had a confrontation with police. The man was arrested last year for assaulting an officer during a chaotic protest at the same detention center. 9 31 is our time. A santa rosa family is going through a tough time as their 2yearold daughter remains in serious condition following a hit and run. Police say the driver was under the influence. Only on 7, abc 7 News ReporterLisa Amin Gulezian spoke with the victims father. I seen her her family is still in shock after she was hit by a drunk driver in santa. Im very mad, right . Im very angry that he was driving and that he was driving so rec resly. The suspected driver is a man with four dui convictions and was busted for another hit and run the week prior. Soon after thursdays crash, police found him and his van at a nearby apartment complex. Should have stopped and said hey, lets call 911. Get some help for this little girl, please. Help her. No, he took off. The day of the crash, she was at her great grandmother runninger and. They were getting into the car when the toddler ran away. Then beverly hower top heard the crash. Very loud. When i saw people screaming and running into the street, then i realized it was probably her. She was thrown several feet. Shes on a breathing tube and has bruised lungs and head lacerations. Shes currently being sedated and in and out of consciousness. Were praying and praying and praying that shes going to make it through. Shes a very strong little girl. She will make it through. Shes just three feet tall and loves to make people laugh. Her family cant wait until shes home again. When you see her, she brightens you up. In the newsroom, Lisa Amin Gulezian, abc 7 news. In the east bay, police are searching for two men suspect st of killing another man. They are responsible for the death of daniel schrader. The victim was found friday night inside a motel room suffering from several gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital. Officers believe the suspects were holed up inside a bay point home yesterday. A standoff came to an end a few hours later with neither of the men located. Unfortunate that weve upset the community on a saturday morning. Weve got the response to try and keep the community safe. This person is very dangerous. Believed armed with a firearm. Police say both renfrow and brown are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call 911. A busy street in concord is still closed. Abc 7 news was there as the crane was being dismantled yesterday. All three lanes of westbound concord boulevard are closed between galindo street and mira vista terrace. Its expected to reopen by 7 00 tonight. The crane was being used to renovate the apartments. More than 55 million in damage was done to the 180unit complex. Nearly 250 people had to be evacuated from nearby apartments. Also in concord, theres a twoday fundraiser dedicated to keeping police dogs safe and healthy. Abc 7 news was in the east bay for the cover your canine event. Pet food express teamed up with police force toss raise money for the fourlegged officers. Live demonstrations showcasing the incredible skills of the canines were also held. Money raised goes to the equipment, vests, trauma kits and heat alarms. If my car gets too hot, an alarm goes off on my belt to let me know to get my dog and rolls the window down and prevents dogs from suffering from heatrelated injuries. More than 350 dogs and their volunteer puppy raisers came to the campus yesterday for a day o training. The pups are between 5 to 15 months old. Theyre undergoing two full years of training before they graduate from the program and theyll be a vital companion to a new owner. Wasnt necessarily a topic i wanted to discuss at length with a 4yearold. Paisley learned there are refugees not only in her home state of texas but all over the world. Because they had to runaway from danger. Their country is not safe. So she started with stuffed animals, collecting 250, donating them to kids in wartorn syria. From there, she visited refugees in mexico to deliver 500 pounds of donated supplies. She came back and said my heart is going to explode. Her passion for giving is only getting stronger. She started a nonprofit called paisleys house to try and build a school for children at the maria camp, considered one of the worst refugee camps on the planet located in greece. Lemonade for sale. She donated her piggy bank and selling 3 glasses of l lemonade and making sure customers know where it goes. Im not keeping the money. Im donating the money.
