Legislation that would strengthen protections for uber and lyft drivers is now heading to the state Senate Appropriations committee. Assembly bill 5 would force Ride Hailing Companies to classify hundreds of thousands of drivers as employees instead of independent contractors. That legislation would require those companies to offer benefits like sick pay. A San Francisco man accused of a drug fueled rampage on july 4th is scheduled to be arraigned from a hospital bed. Around 8 00 at night on july 4th i heard gunshots. Reporter what this resident heard was a sheriffs deputy opening fire at coffee who was driving towards his chp officers car. They deliberately hit the man at the legion of honor. The victim had been snapping pictures of the suspects after they broke into his car. Home depot will pay for the cost of fencing to block 37th avenue. In the east bay, the concord navy weapons station will be the site of the bays newest park. The city has accepted more than 2,000 acres of land. 300 additional acres will transfer to the city at a later date. The Menlo Fire Department is taking a lead when it comes to earthquake preparedness. The usgs has a network of censors monitoring earthquake activity.
