Governor newsome toured one of the hardest hit by not one but two earthquakes this week. He and other officials are glad the damage and injuries werent worse. They arent breathing and sigh of relief yet. Aftershocks could happen at any time. At 7. 1, fridays earthquake was ten times stronger than the 6. 4 quake that struck the region on thursday. It was felt from mexico all the way up to sacramento. There have been no reports of deaths or major damage, but there is still plenty of cleanup to do. Abc news has the latest. This was inside an Albertsons Grocery store in ridgecrest, moments after the earthquake hit. The power was knocked out. As you can see, the camera is going through the store. Everything came off the shelves and on to the floor. The cracks from the earthquake are very visible at a shell gas station in trona, east of ridgecrest. The pavement appears to have shifted, causing portions to crumble. What earthquake . That was the reaction from disneyland visitors as the earthquake hit. You can see some soft lights swaying in the video. The park evacuated people from the new star wars ride and temporarily shut down several other attraction, including space mountain. Weve seen pictures of roads and highways cracking from the earthquake. This is highway 178 in kern county. Caltrans is already at work trying to fix the damage. Governor newsome says the damage could surpass hundreds of millions of dollars, and any aftershocks could cause even more damage. Abc has more on the state of emergency. The 7. 1 earthquake that hit ridgecrest could be similar to the ones we could face in the bay. The fault, the depth was about 10 miles. All of those aspects are very, very similar. Reporter alameda fire chief said having resources for 72 hours are some of the essentials. The most important feature should be drinking water. The very most important thing. I remember sitting in the marina and they said, the entire bridge collapsed. I had assumed the bridge collapsed, and i was there in the middle of it. I was there with the iconic buildings that buckled. I was walking down the block. I assumed the rest of the city looked like that. It happened around 11 45 last night in the area of mando drive at hillsdale avenue. One witness heard five or six gunshots. Officers arrived to find four men, each with at least one gunshot wound. They are all expected to survive. Its unclear what led up to the shooting. Police say a suspect has not been identified. Another top story this morning, the Sonoma County sheriffs deputy who shot a man on an lsd rampage has been identified as a veteran Law Enforcement officer. The deputy worked 18 years on the job. The last four with Sonoma County. Sheriffs deputies say he shot and critically injured 32yearold kopi of San Francisco. Investigators say he attacked a Security Guard and ran down a woman with the guards truck before he was shot. Kopi was shot three times. He remains in Critical Condition and faces critical charges. Police are making progress in their investigation into a shooting at the mall, which sent terrified shoppers running for cover last year. We believe it came from a dispute between two groups of people, and the shooters were shooting at each other. Reporter the dispute was minor but police wont say what it was. The place was empty was the suspect got inside the locked building, found the keys to the rig, and busted out. Somehow, they hit here. This whole thing bends here. Reporter after the suspect took off in the rig and tore through this door, it had to be fixed. Thats why the station was out of service for roughly four hours. When tim meantime, the wagon was blowing past drivers. If they have spikes, thatd be great. Reporter 50 miles from oakland, chp ordered a spike strip be cut out. Right rear is out. An 11yearold girl hopes someone will return her pet rabbit after it was stolen while being displayed at the county fair. A person took the rabbit from a cage in the fur and feathers tent on thursday. A fairgoer alerted Security Guards after witnessing the theft. Guards searched the fairgrounds but they did not finds the rabbit. Fair Officials Say the girl is devastated. She had raised snowball the rabbit since birth. The fair has made several change, including limiting the number of people in the fur and feathers area at any given time to prevent future animal thefts. It built the first one in late 2017. Sky 7 flew over the latest socalled Cabin Community at mande mandela parkway near interstate 850. Wade freeman spoke to people who call places like these home.
