Mueller will take questions about the russia investigation from two house committees in backtoback public hearings next month. In the two years since his investigation was launched, he has given one tenminute statement but congress is now here saying that is not good enough and issued these subpoenas to get him to testify. The house judiciary and intelligence committees both issuing mueller subpoenas tuesday night. Democratic members eager to finally ask him questions about the russia investigation and the ten instances laid out in the Mueller Report where the president may have obstructed justice. If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so. Reporter house intelligence chair adam schiff telling msnbc he doesnt think mueller would consider this a friendly subpoena, but Congress Needs answers. We never felt it was sufficient to rely simply on a written report or a tenminute statement without the ability to follow up with questions. Overnight on capitol hill the house approved billions of dollars in humanitarian aid for migrants setting up a showdown with the senate. It comes amid yet another shakeup in the trump administration.
