The critique is that the Creative Community was not consulted. Reporter jessica and a list of local artists of color wrote an open letter to Team San Joses executive director. Ey alinge t use kellys face and voice to promote the city deeply offensive and dismissive of the creative and artistic culture. They wanted to be part of it. San jose is diverse of what is depicted on the video, musically, ethnically, everything. It is vibrant, culturally diverse and where was that, right . Reporter others argue the song is exactly san jose, pointing to kellys stroll through a shop in japan town and views of vendors at the flea market. It is awesome. Reporter this was the first time paul rodgers reviewed the video. Disregarding the debate he said viewers should be mindful. Add computers and engineering degrees and just plain old instinct. With a simple adjustment of a cam shaft, a cylinder head design, man forward design, we can move the power to a lower rpm range. Reporter around here theyre secretive about tire pressure and brakes and they worry about spies. The unwritten rule for us, no pictures underneath the cars, of wheel mounts without tires, and especially of engines. Well, it is just a little bit proprietary because there are some things we do with routing of wires and stuff that other teams would probably like to see that we try to keep to ourselves. Some of the most important events in lgbtq history have taken place right outside twin peaks tavern, but were more important than what the bar owners did nearly 50 years ago with its large windows. A lot of people that came in here were taking a risk, but yet it was time to stop hiding. Before this bar opened all of the gay bars in San Francisco were on dark alleys or the windows were painted black. When this bar opened it was, we are here and we dont mind being seen. This is my favorite bar ever. Im a regular here and i love it. Reporter coming out of the closet to the Gay Community was something that individuals would do, but it was the first time that the bar itself was out, which meant that the people who went to the bar were also outing themselves because anybody could walk by, look through the windows and see who was in there. It really was a pioneering move of the two women, Peggy Forrester and mariel enkunha, who opened the bar in 1972, to take the paint off the windows, to expose the customers inside and so the customers can see outside. At that point it was a really big deal. It was the first time we know of where a gay bar purposely opened their windows to be seen, at a time when being gay could be a risk to lose your job. It was a risk for the bar itself so they had a notouch policy and kept everyone on better behaviors. There were other bars in the neighborhood where cruising was more prevalent, whereas here it was a social place. Just people were more behaved, more community oriented. The bar has not changed that much. We were like at the epicenter of the Gay Community. A lot has happened out here right out through the windows. In 1989 when i started working here at the twin peaks, the aids crisis was in full swing. Sadly, every bartender that i worked with passed away from aids. People would come here for information, to share, also a lot of Memorial Services were held here. When they approved gay marriage, then everybody would gather in the castro area. There was literally dancing in the streets. It is definitely a window of the world. We identify as a gay bar, but as time has gone on and we have evolved into an everybody is welcome bar. It is the very first bar that i actually stumbled into that the bartender remembered my name. The sense of community here is contagious. For many of us, this isi don home. I come here to meet friends. This place is timeless. It doesnt change, and thats the beauty of it. A lot of people feel proud to come and see the bar and to be in the bar and be a part of history still in the making. A documentary called through the windows tells the story of twin peaks tavern. It will premiere at frameline 43, lgbtq Film Festival monday at 1 30 at the castro theater. We have the red flag warning in effect. As we start in san jose, notice it is nice still there. Temperatures in the upper 80s for highs. It is getting warm in the south bay for the first weekend of summer. It is about 10 degrees above the average, but we are looking at the high fire danger today around lake county, sonoma and napa as the winds are up to 35 Miles Per Hour. So it lasts until 6 00 tonight. It will be hot inland, and we are looking at the to 35 miles. The relative humidity drops, but then the sea breeze picks up early next week and we will be much, much cooler. Looking at mount tam right now, you can see the tree tops there that are blowing, but we also have the fog. A pretty interesting combination, so some cooling out there, some drying, making for a typical summer day for the most part, but we never like to see that high fire danger. Here is the fog, live you can see patchy in the north bay along the san mateo coast down to santa cruz, but a beach day . Yeah, could be. As we look at our roof camera, right here you can see it is a little hazy out there, due to the high relative humidity. 54 in San Francisco. We get the highest numbers usually in the morning but it is already coming down in the upper san jose, 57. Iew. Morgan hill, 51. Half moon bay, 52. Pier 39, nice and sunny out there. Not a lot of sea lions out there yet. I think they go away at this time of year. 57 by the delta with the lighter wind. Concord, upper 50s. Livermore, 54 degrees. We are looking at the gusty winds. Notice up to 25 Miles Per Hour, knoxville creek. Look at mount diablo, 37 Miles Per Hour north wind, and mount tap up to 26 Miles Per Hour. You can see it from the live cameras, so that will allow for a quick warmup today. In the north bay for sonoma raceway, how about 91 degrees. Going from 53 to 91, and then about the same tomorrow with lots of sunshine. You are not going to see any fog in the south bay today. 87 in santa clara. Los gatos, 88. 77 at our beach. Santa cruz, one of the locations there in the south that will be warm, but closer to home it is comfortable. 68, pacifica. 84, redwood city. How about 73 in San Francisco. 75, south city. In the north bay, some of the reds making up for the low 90s there, very warm. Near east bay, getting hot for you. 82 in san leandro. 83, union city. Inland, 90 in san ramon, 94 in livermore and 94 in antioch. Upper 60s, coast. 84 around the bay, seems to be a popular number.
