He may be the person who attacked a woman who attempted to sexually assault her on thursday night around 5 30. She was pushed to the ground and dragged a short distance along the trail. Reporter it happened near the whole foods at south broadway. Police say this is the area where the attack happened. It is dark and there are lots of bushes. The main trail, however, is lghted and people tell me theyre surprised the attack happened here. We walk this stretch of the trail all the time. So thats quite upsetting. We dont often hear of things like that around here. Reporter police say the man tried to kiss the woman and made threats during the attack. The intent was clear that it was sexually assault motivated. Reporter for some reason he stopped and ran north on broadway. The woman suffered from scrapes and bruises. Weve done this trail at lunchtime, it seems fine and safe. Wouldnt think twice about walking it at lunchtime. Reporter police say you should think twice before walking alone on the trail. If this individual had the audacity to do this, theres no doubt hell do it again. Reporter if you recognize this man, contact police. A pedestrian was hit and klled by a berkeley city vehicle at channing way and fulton street yesterday afternoon. A city worker was behind the wheel of the vehicle when investigators say was traveling at just 15 miles per hour. To avoid a conflict of interest, the Highway Patrol has been asked to investigate the incident. The 70yearold victim was a berkeley resident. Her name has not been released. That burned 282,000 acres. Officials have declared it 100 contained. The thomas fire started back on december 4th and is the largest wildfire in state history. Investigators still dont know how that fire started. Some residents plan to protest at Richmond City hall today against the relocation of a methadone treatment center. The clinic, run by b. A. R. T. Programs, wants to move from cutting boulevard in richmond to a larger facility with a bigger waiting room. One person who lives near the proposed facility says Richmond Police are called to the Current Center four times a week. The majority of the calls were for, you know, theft and assault and disturbance of the peace. Oh, yes, are we going to fight it. With every inch of my being. Richmond Officials Say the city has no role in the relocation proposal but they will eventually have to decide whether to issue a land use permit for the new location. Reporter its difficult to initially detect canine flu because the symptoms dont show up until a few days later. Dr. Dave reed owns a dog daycare and animal hospital. Hes treating many dogs. Im going to say 20 at this point. Dr. Johnson who is over there right now administering to them, had two more positive cases today. So this really is a severe problem. Reporter many kennels and dog fair facilities in the area closed because of the outbreak. At dr. Daves, signs are posted alerting owners of the problem. Dr. Daves is shutting down his doggie daycare for at least a week. When it reopens, they will only take dogs that have been vaccinated. The vaccine is a series of two shots taken a few weeks apart. It then takes a couple of weeks for the protection to work. Willow is now on antibiotics and will avoid contact with other dogs. Well keep her at home and, you know, take good care of her. A Good Samaritan who saved a woman from being hit by caltrain in sunnyvale says he would do what any responsible person would do. With walt Walter Wilson pulled the woman from the tracks on thursday evening. Seconds later a train slammed into the car, pushing it 100 feet and flipping it into the air. Wilson says what he did was humane, not heroic. There are people who are heroes who save lives every day and put their life on the line everyday. What i did, i think most people would have done if they had had the constitution to think that maybe somebody might be in that car. Wilson says the driver was dazed but otherwise uninjured.
