Reporter 37 years later, a break in the case that had the entire pay area on edge. Susan bam bah deer was only 14 years old when she was kidnapped, raped, and murdered the now they say they have her killer in custody. 63yearold man who knew the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and we hope this development offers some level of comfort to them. Reporter police stay was 1980 when he kidnapped suzanne from her sisters apartment on hudson court while she was baby sitting her nieces. They say he raped her before he stabbed her in the chest which penetrated her heart. Her body was found floating in the river just east of the antioch bridge just days later. Investigators were only able to recently link him to the crime after several rounds of dna testing. Justice may not have come as swiftly as we may have hoped or liked. But we will be continuing to work diligently on this case and hopefully justice will come. He has a long and violent criminal history. A suspect in a decades old kidnapping case in hillsboro remains in jail on 5 million bail tonight. He made his First Court Appearance today after being captured in los angeles on friday. Police believe he captured and kidnapped 9yearold kristine chu for ran some in 1995. Tomorrow the stiff oakland will resume normal operations after a strike shut down City Services for several days. Reporter there are till strike signs an protest signs in the windows of city hall but some 3,000 workers will be back on the job tomorrow, but its only at suspense. Strike as mediation is still under way and workers could go out again if Union Leaders call for it. These striking city of oakland workers will be back on the job tomorrow morning thanks in part to head way made by a mediator. I think the mediator has heptd naerts terms of reframing the issues and becoming more mentally flexible.
