This is especially pertinent for the Fountain Grove area which was nearly burned to the ground last month. The city identified sections of storm drain destroyed by the fires and that, plus the fact that theres little to no groundcover means increased risk for landslides and sinkholes. Residents will be asked to call 911 if they see evidence of flooding or mud flows. From bikes to personal documents, north bay residents are recovering part of their lives lost last month to the wildfires. Abc 7 News ReporterCornell Barnard has the story from santa rosa. We left our stuff in the box and the truck was open. It flew out. Music filled old courthouse square. A festival called sonoma strong marked the beginning of rebuilding efforts. It could take years, but patty and michael say look around. The community is pitching in. Its amazing how a tragedy brings out the best in people. Santa rosa came together which is amazing. New this morning, were getting our first look inside an Entertainment Center where a stairwell collapsed in san diego injuring 21 children and two adults. It happened during pizza time at the center where kids learn trampoline skills, rope climbing and other things. Some children were on a wooden platform when the structure gave way. 20 people were taken to the hospital. One child possibly suffered a moderate spinal cord injury due to the way he fell. Today marks one week since the mass shooting at a texas church that killed more than two dozen people. The small town of Sutherland Springs is still trying to recover. The church will open today not for service but to let people visit a memorial there. The pastor says the church will be demolished because its too painful to continue using it as a place of worship. Abc News Reporter linda lopez has the story. Theyre setting up tents for Church Service near where they used to gather on sunday mornings. The survivors of the tragedy inside the First Baptist church of Sutherland Springs will pray together again one week after devin kelley walked into their house of worship killing 26 people and wounding 20 others. The gunmans first wife opening up about what she says was a marriage filled with abuse and threats. Saying in a promotional clip for inside edition. He had a lot of demons or hatred inside of him. The victims now being laid to rest. Saturday richard and they Reese Rodriguez were buried, husband and wife in this small town cemetery. At the same time, neighbors and visitors trickle into the tiny texas town to pay respects. Handmade crosses, a visual reminder of so many lives lost. A few miles away, neighbors spent two days cooking over 5,000 pounds of food to raise money to assist the victims. I mean, like i said, the money is never going to replace the victims but it will help them in the recovering process. Volunteers of the First Baptist food pantry showed up this weekend like they always do, to help the needy. The woman who organized the effort for years was lost in the attack. Lou is no longer with us, except in spirit for lou, they served up bread and love and even a little laughter. Church leaders said volunteers allowed them to transform the site of the shooting into a beautiful memorial. That celebrates and pays tribute to the lives that were lost. The public will be able to visit the memorial after sunday. Linda lopez, abc news, new york. Developing news in oakland where Police Officers are on high alert this morning for any attempts to start a sideshow. The Police Department tweeted pictures of several cars they towed last night for suspected sideshow activity. Police were tipped off on social media about sideshows happening this weekend. Two weeks ago officers arrested five people and impounded motorcycles after nearly 200 bikers performed sideshows on east bay roads and freeways. Happening today, San Franciscos annual veterans day parade. This is the 97th year the city by the bay honored veterans that way. This is video from a recent parade. Todays will start at north north point street and the embarcadero and wind down to jefferson street and finally to aquatic park. No traffic will be allowed between jefferson street and the embarcadero. It starts at 11 00 and is scheduled to end at 1 00. Homeowners must fill out a right to entry form to allow the cleanup. Removing all the ash, were removing whatever concrete needs to be removed. Were removing the foundations from each home because we have to get down and test that soil underneath the foundation to make sure that theres no contaminants left. They expect to have 70 teams out in the county within the next week. Removal takes about three days and officials hope to have all of the fire zone cleaned up by early next year. Our professionals have gone into classrooms with students the last couple of months to develop these intricate designs and work in collaboration on the concepting.
