The Sheriffs Office says on at least one occasion when the girl got off the bus, hernandezpalmo followed her and kept recording. They arrested him. The whole situation is gross, its creepy, its unfortunate. Its sad, really. Hopefully the guy will get some kind of mental help. Reporter the Sheriffs Office believes hernandezpalmo has been recording girls for three years. Theyre asking other potential victims to come forward. Were working on a project by the California Native Plant Society to collect a corns from surviving trees. Organizers say the timing is good this year as oaks produced an unusually large amount of acorns and the coax can do a lot of good to help bring the fire zone back to life. San jose residents are being told they will get earlier warnings if creatieks threaten flood their homes. Hundreds were flooded out last year during flooding. Reporter for nine months, crews have been working to clear debris from coyote creek. Now a new action plan has been approved to provide residents earlier warnings of rising floodwaters. No one wants to see a repeat last februarys disaster when residents had to be evacuated when caught by surprise. They never had time to move their vehicles. Because of those floods, weve been able to kind of take action and prepare a plan for ourselves and what we need to do is maintain that commitment day in and day out. Reporter a major step forward is jointing meetings of the San Jose City council and valley Water District board. The new plan they approved sends out alerts by cellphone and key emergency teams will do periodic drills to test their response to flood warnings and watches. The idea is that every year we would have at least one exercise, one drill, one sitdown discussion, what needs to change, did it work last time, did what we say work in preparedness, response, and everything else. Reporter 40 families made homeless by februarys coyote creek flood remain in temporary housing. The reason is high rent, which some victims cannot afford. Many of the displaced want to stay close to their kids schools and to friends and family. While people have been wanting to move back in the areas that they were in, perhaps looking at different parts of the city or perhaps even relocating to another city, may be the only viable option, or looking at another housing type. Youre getting some pretty good downpours. Some wet weather, 680 and vallejo some lighter rain around 80. It gets pretty intense here out towards danville. 680, wet and some heavier pound po downpowers. Burlingame and san mateo, youve had some pretty good showers. North of Castro Valley looking at some wet weather. Finally, down through san carlos, redwood city. Here is the front, it continues to trail off from us it can a d us it can a der row offshore. It will be request us throughout the peninsula, the east bay, and the south bay throughout the Morning Hours. Well time it out for you in just a moment. Upper 30s from truckee right down through the tahoe valley airport. Not quite yet snow. Were looking at some light rain in the mountains. Numbers ranging here on the mild side from the low 50s where the front has pushed on through to the upper 50s, oakland. 58 in fremont. Not much in the east bay or south bay yet but well have more. Upper elevation winds are quite breezy from the north day to the diablo range. It will be mainly dry for not only the second half of the weekend but the second half of the day today were looking at partly cloudy skies. The 8 00 hour, sinking to the southeast. Youre getting the rain now but it will weaken as it sinks south going through the south bay, so amounts wont be great there. From early this morning into about, oh, 3 00 youll notice richmond quarter of an inch. A couple of hundredths, maybe a tenth more for you over in fremont and san jose, just a few 1 100ths.
