We were still in the evacuation zone. Both men sent their families to stay with their families outside the zone. Then reinforced with soldiers from outside the region and outside the state. Weve been assisting with the search and recovery operations. Weve been providing decontamination support. Weve been mannin the evacuation shelters. Weve been providing shelters. They are doing really well. They enjoy being out here. They want to be part of the fight and theyre professionals. Fortunately it never their neighborhood. There were 772 guardsmen on duty. Many of the outoftowners bunking here after long hours on the job. They are the bravest people ive ever seen.
