You saw a few showers around 5 00 but really 11 30 on through tomorrows morning commute you can see the expansion of the chance of thunderstorms as it moves through there. All the way through the morning commute at 9 00 and then it starts to taper down to just an isolated chance by noon and then that chance really starts to fall apart as we head into wednesday evening as the area of low pressure responsible for this moves off to the east. So lets talk temperatures. Mid 80s down in the south bay today as you head up the peninsula we will have upper 70s to mid 80s, mid 70s along the coast and downtown San Francisco. Up in the north bay low to mid 80s, along the east bay shore upper 70s to mid 80s. Inland temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s. Away from our inland neighborhoods most of us a little bit warmer than we should be. Tomorrow a final chance and you can see cooler and the humidity escapes us on thursday, temperatures return back to average friday and hang that way trough the weekend. Happening today federal investigators are meeting to determine the likely cause of a crash that killed a tesla driver last year. Joshua brown was using the cars autopilot feature when his model s plowed into a truck in florida in may of 2016 and you are looking at video here that brown posted on social media after buying his tesla. The meeting comes on the same day the nations transportation secretary is scheduled to unveil safety guidelines for automobiles trying to market self driving cars. Happening today in the north bay officials will unveil a Pilot Program to get more people aboard the smart train by offering a discount. Transportation authority is partnering up with lyft and whistle stop to help people get to and from the smart train. It is called get smart 17. The Berkeley City Council will discuss reforming the Police Review commission. According to the daily californian Council Members want to improve use of force reporting policies and give the commission full access to city records. One worker was towing a plane from the Maintenance Area to the terminal when he thought maybe he was struck by lightning. Pair led iks responded he said he heard ringing in his ears. They couldnt find any evidence that he had been struck. He is okay but some airlines did pull their ramp employees inside just in case. We have lightning strikes from all around the bay area all the way from San Francisco to san jose. Our emeryville camera in the east bay caught some strikes. The lightning was impressive, so was the thunder and also the rain, all of it unusual for this area and this time of year. Cal fire santa clara unit said it did respond to several spot fires from the lightning, they were small and they got them out quickly. You let it smolder it can grow exponentially. In a short amount of time or it could possibly smolder all day or all night before it finally takes off. Reporter the lightning did knock out power across the region. Look at these latest numbers from pg e just in this morning, the peninsula still has the most customers without power at 565. San francisco right behind them with 541, a total of customers without power so no lights inside this morning but an impressive light showout side last night. Live at sfo, Amy Hollyfield. It was a long night for giants fans after two weather delays. Their series opener against the dodgers at at t park ended around 2 11 this morning. The first pitch was delayed 42 minutes because of the lightning storm, it started before the scheduled start time. And a lot of people were outside not only watching baseball they were watching all that lightning. A man in alameda says he actually saw the moment a lightning bolt hit. They will discuss allocating 200,000 for a emergency daca problem program. It would help with applications and training. Daca protects hundreds of thousands of young people brought her illegally from deportation. Santa clara county is home to 24,000 daca recipients. After weeks of negotiations california sanctuary state bill is headed to the a bleem for approval. Chaings were made to the bill after Governor Brown said he would not sign previous versions of it. The bill would give federal immigration agents access to Law Enforcement databases it would also allow local police to hold someone for federal authorities if they have been convicted of a serious or violent crime. There is record setting flooding in jacksonville, Business Owner adam schafer returning to his office to find it under jacksonville is a beautiful place and were about umd to see this happen.
