Reporter once the flames died down, they found a badly burned body just inside the doorway. We believe that it was a natural gas incident. The question is whether it was disconnected to commit suicide prior to our deputies being there or disconnected and left on or ignited knowing the deputies were there. Theyll determine if the body found inside was the body of the tenant, the target of the eviction. Governor jerry brown just approved using grand juries. It was after some decided not to bring criminal charges against officers who killed unarmed black men. Both decisions sparked protests across the country. The california ban goes into effect january 1st. New details about the latest case of San Jose Police opening fire on a suspect. Yesterday officers fired shots at Aaron Philips but did not hit him. In april, 53yearold santiago montoya suffered a broken leg and fractured rib when hit by a car while helping passengers get off his cable car. Another operator is fighting for his life after being struck by a motorcycle in june. These two incidents this year on the cable car have redoubled our resolve to make sure that not just the whole system but the cable cars in particular that our praltoperators can be. They want motorists to know its against the law. Horses were the main obstacle. Now the streets of San Francisco are anything but idyllic. Dont pass the cable car if you do pass while theyre letting passengers on or off, police are now promising stepped up enforcement like the crackdown today. Anna Margarita Sanchez is excited about her first year as a teacher with the San Francisco unified school district. In a risky move to secure teachers, the district began hiring in january. Something it had never done. The whole idea of being able to see the school youll work with six months in advance was completely new to me. We offered 140 early contracts. Thats before we knew what subjects wed need teachers. We just knew wed need teachers. Reporter San Francisco unified has 21 teaching positions yes to fill. School start oz monday. Its necessary.
