Dec. 21—Each of the three seasons Kevin Durant was on the Warriors, he visited Oakland Elizabeth House — a non-profit that helps mothers who have dealt with domestic violence, addiction or extreme poverty — the week before Christmas.
For about an hour, Durant handed presents to moms and their children, posed for pictures and signed autographs before writing a check to the organization for more than $15,000. These annual stops became one of the year’s biggest highlights for Oakland Elizabeth House — not just because it offered hope to its families, but because Durant’s donations helped keep the organization open.
