KETCHIKAN (KDN) â Members of the Ketchikan Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary were recognized during a special award meeting in March at Coast Guard Base Ketchikan.
The event was attended by Coast Guard Capt. V.W. Louie, who serves as chief of Coast Guard District 17's Prevention Division in Juneau; and Christina Newell, assistant director of Coast Guard Auxiliary District 17, also from Juneau. Louie and Newell were in attendance to present the awards and certifications, according to Ketchikan Flotilla information.
Also in attendance was Lt. Nathaniel Herring, supervisor of Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment Ketchikan. Along with Louie and Newell, Herring was involved in the presentation of the certificates and awards.
