Three-time Kepler winner Daniel Jones, of Wellington, pictured in the 2019 event, will return alongside other trail greats in 2021. The Kepler challenge sold out in under five minutes in 2020.
Trail running enthusiasts will be up before the crack of dawn this Saturday morning as highly sought after Kepler challenge entries open.
Last year entries sold out in less than five minutes.
The challenge, which includes a 60km ultra event and a shorter 28km Luxmore Grunt mountain run, raises funds for organisations within the Te Anau basin.
Returning runners include three-time winner Daniel Jones, Luxmore Grunt recorder holder Andy Good and recent Coast-to-Coast winner Dougal Allan. All top three women from last year, including winner Nancy Jiang, will also be competing.
