Kentucky law clears way for Oak Grove historical horse racing machines

Lady luck is with Oak Grove Racing & Gaming and Kentucky's horse racing industry.
Earlier this year, the state legislature passed a law legalizing historical horse racing machines. The bill, signed into law Feb. 22 by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear,  changes the definition of pari-mutuel wagering in Kentucky statutes to include HHR machines, which resemble slot machines.
A unanimous Kentucky Supreme Court decision in September determined at least one brand of HHR was not pari-mutuel, calling into question the legality of the machines.

Pari-mutuel betting is a system where all wagers are placed together in a pool. Players bet against each other, not the house.
