MILL HALL — Elementary school students in the Keystone Central School District will be returning to classrooms next week.
KCSD superintendent Jacquelyn Martin announced in a news release that elementary students would return to classrooms starting Monday, Jan. 25.
“Earlier this month we learned of a new recommendation from the PA DOH and PDE regarding elementary students and their return to in-person instruction as soon as possible. Based on my conversations with Dr. Elizabeth McGraw, Penn State University Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics, I believe that our elementary staff and students can safely return next week even though our community spread remains in the substantial range,” Martin said in the release. “Our administrators have been working on plans to have our elementary students return to school five days per week while meeting the mandated safety requirements of six feet of distance at any time when a child is unmasked (eating and mask breaks).”
