The Katsina State Government has commenced repatriation of Almajiri students of Qura’ni schools to their respective states.
The Committee Chairman on Identification and Collation of Qur’anic Schools Data, Mr Adamu-Karadua, made this known while handing over some Almajiri students from Kaduna State back to Kaduna Government at Funtua LGA of Katsina State on Wednesday.
The repatriation of the Almajiri students is in line with the agreement by the 19 Northern state governors the report said.
“The committee has identified 7,054 non-indigenous “Almajirai” pursuing Qur’anic education in various parts of Katsina State.
“They will be repatriated to their respective states in batches.” the chairman was quoted to have said.
