Even as the covid cases continue to fall in
Bengaluru and the rest of
Karnataka, the
State stands fourth in the total mucormycosis cases reported, and second in mucormycosis deaths in the country. According to the latest data, 45,374 mucormycosis cases were reported in the country so far and out of them, Karnataka’s share was 3,562. A total of 1,692 people have died of mucormycosis in the country and out of them, 166 were from Karnataka. The State was second in mucormycosis deaths after Gujarat (703).
