The National Farmer Producer Organisation (NFPO), a collective of Kerala farmers engaged in out-of-state farming, highlights the alarming situation. Philip George, NFPO's chairman, reported that twenty-five farmers from their association have fallen victim to ginger theft. What's more, even caretakers on the farms are now at risk, as they could be subjected to attacks by these audacious thieves. A tragic incident occurred in Perikkalloor near Pulpally, where a farmer was injured during one such attack.
