Three UK returnees in Bengaluru test positive for new mutant virus strain; admitted in hospital: Health Minister
"Three out of 26 people whose samples have been tested in NIMHANS were found positive for a new variant of Coronavirus. They have been admitted in the hospitals and measures are on to trace the contacts of these three people", said Health Minister Dr Sudhakar.
The new UK variant genome of Sars-Cov-2 virus has made its way into Bengaluru, with three UK returnees testing positive for the new variant, according to the initial results of genome sequencing of positive samples released by the Indian Sars-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (Insacog) labs on Tuesday.
