Kamala Harris champions designers of color with purple inauguration outfit

Harris, 56, was sworn in as Vice President of the United States on Wednesday

Harris donned a purple outfit by black, queer designer Christopher John Rogers that featured a midi-coat and a matching shift dress
Her black heels were by black designer Sergio Hudson, who also created the plum suit Michelle Obama wore to the inauguration 
The Vice President topped off the look with a custom pearl necklace by Puerto Rican designer Wilfredo Rosado
