Jim Justice vetoed House Bill 5528, which would have raised e cap on how much capacity a renewable electric facility may generate and removed a sunset date on a state program designed to promote utility-scale renewable power Justice approved in 2020. Justice claimed it would hurt the coal industry and drawing the ire of advocates of a new energy status quo in a state anachronistically dependent on coal.
