“Unfortunately, we are reporting one additional death in the last 24 hours,” Dr. Sudit Ranade, Lambton’s medical officer of health, said Wednesday afternoon during a media conference call.
A health unit spokesperson confirmed a person in their 80s died in hospital, but no more details were available.
The death of a person in their 90s was reported Tuesday while three other local residents – a 53-year-old man, an individual in their 60s, and a person in their 20s – died earlier this month, officials previously confirmed. A total of 53 patients, including some people from outside the region, have died in local hospitals.
