Former B.C. Lions general manager and head coach and Wally Buono testified Friday about his decision to cut Josh Boden from the Canadian Football League team when allegations surfaced that the wide receiver had assaulted his girlfriend.
Buono said the team had received a phone call from Kimberly Hallgarth, who the Crown alleges was murdered by Boden in March 2009, during the 2008 off-season.

“She was upset about the fact that she alleged that Josh had damaged her car and she wanted us to make sure he paid for the damages,” Buono, who was testifying by video link, told B.C. Supreme Court Justice Barry Davies.
