A jockey in the United States died after being thrown from his horse mid-race in Oregon on Wednesday (local time).
Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa, 29, was thrown from his mount Godfather Advice during race one (for quarter horses) at Crooked River Roundup.
The two-year-old unseated Gutierrez-Sosa when the horse hit the rail, with the Central Oregonian reporting that the jockey hit his head on the running rail in his fall.
The Crooked River Roundup races were abandoned after race two, after the news of Gutierrez-Sosa’s death was announced trackside.
