Central Ohio stands to pick up 240 jobs from two projects that received approval for state tax incentives on Monday, including plans by crafts and fabric retailer Joann to build a distribution center in West Jefferson.
The projects were among six to be approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority at its monthly meeting that will create 2,423 jobs and retain 18,458 jobs statewide. The projects will result in new payroll of $173 million a year and spur $347 million in investments.
Joann plans to build an 800,000-square-foot distribution center that will employ 175 people. The jobs will have an annual payroll of $5.7 million. The center is expected to open in 2022.
