JHX ASX: James Hardie shares soar 16 per cent as heavy price rises for plasterboard and wall cladding offset declining volumes as renovators hold off.

Chief executive Aaron Erter warned of less activity in the renovation market, after shares in the plasterboard and wall cladding group surged 16 per cent.
