Law enforcement has always been a family affair for Jason Love, the new chief of detectives with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
His uncle, Kenneth Love, was a New York City cop. His wife, Cecilia, is a retired sergeant with the office he now helps direct. And his greatest influence — his late father, Ronald Love — worked for the now-defunct Bergen County Police Department before moving to the Prosecutor's Office, from which he retired in 1993 as a lieutenant.
It was little glimpses into his father's fascinating life — an anecdote here, an overheard conversation there — that slowly tugged Love down the same career path.
