Janesville police are concerned about the number of firearms incidents they recorded this month:
July 8: A gas station clerk flagged down an officer for a man slumped over in a vehicle. The officer saw drug paraphernalia in the car, and a search revealed a Taurus 9mm handgun in a bag on the manâs lap.
Justin R. Marshall, 32, of 32, of 614 Tigger Court, Milton, was arrested on charges of a felon in possession of a firearm; possession of fentanyl, cocaine and drug paraphernalia; carrying a concealed weapon; and possession with intent to deliver Schedule 4 narcotics.
July 13: During a traffic stop, officers found a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun in the back seat with a loaded magazine and a small amount of marijuana.
