James “Jim” H. Burkey of Wintersville, Ohio, born 9/4/1942 at home in Toronto, OH, to the late Roy and Edith (Smalley) Burkey, died peacefully at home December 19, 2020.
Jim was a graduate of Wayne High School, an Army Veteran, as well as a retiree of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Jim was well known for his ability to have a good time, never meeting a person he didn’t befriend.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce A. (Carter) Burkey and his two sons Jay (Barbara) Burkey & Jody Burkey, two grandsons Cody (Audrey) Alford & Colton Burkey, a great grandson Shawn, as well as several generations of nieces and nephews whom he adored as if they were his own.
