New Delhi, Feb 17 : The Centre's Jal Jeevan Mission-Urban (JJM-U) is designed to provide universal coverage of water supply to all households in all cities in the country, an official said on Wednesday.
"JJM-U will lead to competition among cities to become more water secure and will create more awareness and sensitivity towards water conservation," Union Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra said.
While launching the pilot programme of the 'Pey Jal Survekshan, he said that based on the learnings from it, the programme will be extended to all the AMRUT cities.
